Deadlifts - the most functional strength exercises in Bodybuilding and Fitness - Part I

The Deadlift is probably the most functional strength exercises of all: You want your friend to help carry his sofa? Deadlift. You want to carry a beverage crate after shopping into your apartment? Deadlift. You want to carry your girlfriend over the doorsteps? Deadlift with elevated starting position.

It is therefore important to add deadlifts to your exercise program. Not only to stabilize and build the leg and back muscles, but also to develop your trapezoid muscles and the shoulder blades.
Even if squat exercises are known as the best mass-building exercises at all, it is the best to do also deadlifts in order to get more power into your upper-lower body. Precisely for this reason, deadlifts are suitable for everyone, men and women, beginners as experienced athletes.

Despite its advantages deadlifts are not everyone's favourite exercise. It is even known as a dangerous exercise, especially for beginners. This is true, but only if you do it wrong. The best way to practise it correctly is to do it with no weight at first and watch your movement in the mirrow, or get observed by a friend or personal trainer.

Deadlifts for women?
Yes, women should also practise deadlifts. Not only because this exercise boosts their lends strength and shape their upper body. It also stabilizes the spine. Before large muscle mountains are build up, a woman should not be afraid of such an exercise. Usually you will not gain more muscles than a men. That's not possible if you train the natural way. So do this exercise and think of it as a cool exercise, because it would finally be great, if you could cary heavy bottles of water upstairs by yourself, right?
